Through Our Words and Actions.
Nancy Moricette, Founder, B.F.A., M.S.Ed.
Áse, is a West African word from Yoruba philosophy that implies that our words have the power to create and destroy. I founded Áse Power Consult to provide organizations with the tools necessary to cultivate a thoughtful inclusive practice that transforms how they communicate across racial, economic, religious and cultural divides. I use Áse as a foundation to challenge organizations to interrogate their perception and explore how equitable environments could be cultivated by adopting frameworks that encourage learning through shared experiences.
I have a Master’s of Science and Education from Bank Street College’s Community Leadership Program and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Roosevelt University. I hold anti-racist certifications from People’s Institute for Survival and Beyond, National School Reform and additional training from Southern Poverty Law Center’s Anti-Bias Workshop for Educators and Young Adults. I am a member of the National Diversity Council and Emerging Arts Leaders of Los Angeles. The experiences I have as an Inclusive Practice Leader and Community Programs Developer enable me to use my Áse power to better serve organizations through authentic, diversity and inclusive practice frameworks.
Áse Power Consult's mission is to sow seeds of equitable growth in communities invested in cultivating authentic connections across diverse environments. I look forward to harvesting equitable change together.
